UC Julia Users Group
About
The UC Julia Users Group (UC JUG) is a virtual users group for people interested in or already using Julia. We often focus on applications to research computing and data science, but we’re happy to discuss other applications of Julia as well. The group is open to people from all disciplines, all levels of experience, and all UC campuses (including alumni).
Most UC JUG meetings are informal 1 hour “studio” sessions where members chat about how they’ve been using Julia recently, new tricks they’ve learned, and problems they’ve encountered. Occasionally, studio sessions begin with a short presentation (15-30 minutes) from a volunteer or invited speaker. You’re encouraged to share your perspectives and ask questions, although it’s also okay to just listen in.
Membership
Membership is open to anyone interested in or already using Julia. To participate, sign up for the mailing list to receive Zoom links.
Meet-ups and Events
Meetings are Tuesday 2-3pm every other week, beginning Jan 30. All studio meetings will be virtual (over Zoom) and do not require registration in advance. Zoom links for the studio meetings will be sent out to the mailing list a few days in advance.
Special events and workshops usually do require registration in advance.
