Take the Open Source Program Office Survey
What challenges and opportunities do you face in participating in open source communities? We want to hear from you!
UC Davis faculty, researchers, staff and students are invited to complete a short survey to share their perspectives and experiences regarding contributing to open source software. If you have ever contributed to an open source project — be it through code, bug reports, mentorship, community building, advocacy, documentation, designs, donations, translations, etc. — we want to hear from you!
Your insights will help us build a robust network of open source support services across UC, filling gaps in UC’s existing infrastructure for open source discovery, education, and sustainability. The survey is designed and administered by our partners in the UCSB Library’s Research Data Services department to inform the UC Open Source Program Office (OSPO) Network. The University of California launched the UC OSPO in 2024, a groundbreaking initiative funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to create a UC-systemwide network of OSPOs and revolutionize open source software development practices in academia. Survey responses are being solicited from all campuses participating in the UC OSPO network.
The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. Responses will remain anonymous.
