Health Data Science and Systems Brown Bag Talks
March 5 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
Topic: Current COVID-19 Health Data Science Resources for Research and Evaluation
Presented by: Dr. Nicholas Anderson
Abstract: This will be an updated review and contrast of COVID-19 and population health data science resources which have become or are becoming available during the pandemic. The focus will be on the technical assistance routes, scope of data and tools available, and expectations for use. This will first outline the current governance related to protected data that has been affected by COIVD-19, then focus on those which are supported at the UC Davis, UC, and national levels, and how they may align with student and researcher use.
Biography: Dr. Anderson’s research focuses on large-scale clinical data discovery and data sharing for research, patient provided data systems and policy and decision support analytics. He considers the development and application of clinical research informatics to be his academic community, and he seeks to expand capabilities to use well-governed and secure clinical data to advance patient-oriented research. He received his PhD in Biomedical Informatics from the University of Washington
