DataLab’s own Dr. Michele Tobias has been elected to the board of directors for OSGeo, an international foundation with wide ranging efforts in open source geospatial community. As a member of the board Dr. Tobias will help set the vision and goals for the foundation.
The OSGeo foundation is responsible for cornerstone pieces of software and events for the geospatial community including:
- The free and open source QGIS software.
- The foundational GDAL software used in every major programing language.
- The PostGIS extension for PostgreSQL.
- The annual Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial (FOSS4G) conference.
- And much more!
