The Office of Public Scholarship and Engagement (OPSE) is seeking a graduate student researcher (GSR) who is an enthusiastic collaborator, detail-oriented, and passionate about publicly-engaged research and teaching. Primary responsibilities include:
- Conducting research about existing publicly-engaged research and teaching projects at UC Davis;
- Gathering information and writing articles about publicly-engaged projects for the OPSE website;
- Maintaining a website and database of activities associated with university-wide public scholarship and engagement, as well as a directory of public scholars and non-university partners;
- Assisting the OPSE Team in their efforts to coordinate project activities including logistical support for events on and off campus.
OPSE is seeking individuals with an interest and/or background in community engagement, public scholarship, digital communications, journalism, or other related fields. Experience in website management, data management, and/or knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a plus. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in written and verbal communication, learn quickly, and adapt easily. The GSR will work closely with OPSE’s Communications Director on publicizing publicly-engaged scholarship at UC Davis. This is a 6-12 month GSR appointment @ 25-50% FTE with a projected start date no later than July 1, 2019. Salary and equivalent GSR step will be commensurate with prior experience. The appointment includes a remission of fees, tuition and nonresident supplemental tuition (if applicable) in accordance with university policy.
